Taiwan’s aluminum capacitor market facing price hikes

19 Mar 2026 16:59 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Rising raw material costs are pushing aluminum capacitor prices upward, ending a period of manufacturer-absorbed expenses. Upstream aluminum foil costs have increased by 15% to 20%, while components such as lead wires are also more expensive. As a result, the industry is transitioning into a seller's market.

Taiwan-based suppliers are currently negotiating new contracts with clients, with expected price hikes between 3% and 7%. These adjustments will primarily target older product specifications that are currently trading near production costs.

Market participants expect this upward trend to continue throughout the year as major manufacturers lead the transition to higher pricing for both aluminum foils and finished aluminum capacitors.
