EU’s AD duties on Chinese aluminum converter foil to expire on Dec 9, 2026

26 Mar 2026 15:16 reported by Joy Liu

The European Commission announced on March 13, 2026, that anti-dumping (AD) measures against Chinese aluminum converter foil will end on December 9, 2026. These duties, ranging from 15.4% to 28.5%, apply to products under CN code ex 7607 11 19 (TARIC codes 7607111960 and 7607111991).

Originally launched on October 22, 2020, the investigation led to a provisional AD duty on June 18, 2021, and definitive AD duties starting in December 2021.

European producers now have until three months before the December deadline to request a sunset review. To extend these protections, they must provide evidence that removing the duties would cause a return of dumping and further damage local industry. Without a formal challenge and sufficient proof of potential harm, the current trade barriers on these specific imports will cease.
